Doula

End-of-Life Doulas emotionally, spiritually, and physically support a dying person, their family, friends, and caregivers during the last months of life.  EOL Doulas provide education and information to help the dying person and others make choices about—and understand the nature of—the dying process.  As an EOL doula, I may function as a member of an end-of-life vigil team to provide round-the-clock presence, assistance, support and comfort to the dying and caregivers during the final days.  I can assist clients with their Advanced Healthcare Directives.

I began training as an EOL (end-of-life) doula with The International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA) in 2015. I then expanded my in-home volunteer work with Hospice of San Luis Obispo County as EOL doula, becoming lead doula in 2016 and have been a practicing EOL doula since.  .  I completed INELDA certification in 2021.

I have additional specialized training as a guide/resource for end-of-life options such as VSED (Voluntary Stopping Eating Drinking) and MAiD (Medical Aid in Dying).  I have partnered extensively with medical hospices for the benefit, comfort and safety of our shared clients.
